The Binghamton Bearcats host the America East Softball Championship this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at their new Sports Complex.  The three-day, double-elimination tournament begins  with Thursday's 1 PM game between Number 1 seed Albany and Number 4 seed Stony Brook..  Then at 3:30 PM Binghamton, the Number 2 seed meets  Number 3 seed Hartford.

Play resumes on Friday with the Game 1 Winner meeting the Game 2 Winner at 11 AM.  At 1:30 PM the Game 1 loser meets the Game 2 loser. Then at 4 PM the Game 3 Loser faces the Game 4 Winner.

On Saturday the Game 3 Winner meets the Game 5 Winner at Noon which could be for the Championship.  If another game is needed that would follow at 2:30 PM.  The America East winner gets an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Softball Tournament.

Coach Michelle Burrell has led her Bearcats to a regular season record of 29-15 and 14-4 in America East.  Binghamton has secured its highest- ever seeding at Number 2.   The Bearcats set records at the Division 1 level for overall conference victories and conference wins.  At the plate BU leads America East with a batting average of .296, on-base percentage of .384 and slugging percentage at .475.

Tickets are available at the gate. Prices are $7 for adults; $3 for youth 14 and under and $2 with an America East Student ID.
