The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team will host the top team in America East on Wednesday night when the Vermont Catamounts visit the Events Center for a 7 PM start (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). The Catamounts are 7-0 in America East.  Even more impressive is their 28 game winning streak in the conference.  That is the longest conference winning streak in the nation. Overall Vermont is 17-5.

The Catamounts have played some stiff competition.  They suffered a four-point loss at Kentucky, a ten-point loss at Marquette and a two-point loss at St. Bonaventure. The Catamounts are led by the returning America East Player of the Year Trae Bell-Haynes who is averaging 13.3 points per game.  Preseason All-Conference selection Anthony Lamb is sidelined with a fractured foot. Through 13 games Lamb averaged 15.7 points per game.

The Catamounts are the best shooting team in America East making .491 percent of their shots. They also top the conference in three-point shooting scoring at a .414 clip.  Ernie Duncan is hitting 44 percent of his three-point attempts.
