The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team dropped a 71-70  heart-breaker to the Mountaineers of Mount St. Mary's today at the Events Center.  Binghamton led by as many as 14 points in the first half and were up by four at the half.

In the second half Mount St. Mary's chipped away at the lead and finally went ahead 49-48 with 10:39 to play.  Binghamton re-took the lead 16 seconds later on a Jordan Reed slam dunk set-up by Jimmy Gray.

The teams went back and forth over the next nine minutes.  Down 70 -65 with 37 seconds left to play Jordan Reed scored on a layup to make it 70-67.  The Mountaineers added a free throw to make it 71-67.  Jimmy Gray countered with a three-point bomb to make it 71-70 and a missed  jumper by Jordan Reed which was partially blocked at the buzzer secured  the victory for Mount St. Mary's.

Reed scored 17 points for the Bearcats while Taylor Johnston nailed three straight three-pointers and ended with 12 points.  Also in double figures for Binghamton were Ryner Moquette with 11 and Jimmy Gray with 10.

Josh Castellanos led the Mountaineers with 14 points and Julian Norfleet added 13 points.  Binghamton falls to 2-6 while the Mountaineers even their record at 3-3.  Binghamton returns to action Monday night at 7 (650 airtime on News Radio 1290 WNBF) hosting the Monmouth Hawks coached by former Binghamton High standout King Rice.
