J.C.Show was expected to help lead the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team into contention for the America East championship this season.  The Bearcats may still contend but they will have to do it without Show.  At a late afternoon press conference today (Friday) Coach Tommy Dempsey made the announcement that Show would undergo surgery for a ruptured left triceps muscle next Thursday and be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Show says he suffered the injury initially over the summer and has played with it throughout the season.  He aggravated the injury against Colgate last week and after an MRI it was determined that surgery was needed.

Show was the team's leading scorer through the first 12 games of the season and was averaging 13.3 points per game.  His 34-point performance to key BU's win over Central Connecticut State earned him highlight time on ESPN's Sports Center.

The Bearcats are back in action Saturday at 2:00 PM when they host Delaware State.  Air is at 1:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
