Bearcats KO’d By Black Bears

The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team was knocked out of the America East Tournament on Saturday afternoon by the Maine Black Bears in Portland, Maine.  In the quarterfinal round the Black Bears eliminated the Bearcats 57-40 to end the Bearcats season.  Maine advances to the semifinal round today (Sunday) versus the regular season champion New Hampshire Wildcats.

The Bearcats led 22-18 at the half but poor shooting doomed the Bearcats in the second half.  Overall BU hit on just 31 percent of its shots from the field while Maine hit on 44 percent of its shots.

Kai Moon was the only Bearcat to score in double figures with 10 points.  Alyssa James scored eight points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Binghamton.

The Bearcats end their season with a 13-17 overall record.  Maine moves to 17-16 with the win.
