Bearcats Hoped Trip to the Mount Offers Re-Birth
Last December the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team came to Emmitsburg, Maryland needing a victory and they got it with a 74-70 decision. They hoped that could happen again when they met the Mountaineers of Mount St. Mary's December 22.
Bearcats brought a record of 1-12 into the action while the Mountaineers were 3-6. Both are coming off losses. The Bearcats dropped a 69-51 game to St. Bonaventure at the Events Center on December 20. Mt. St. Mary's lost a heart-breaker to American University that same evening 46-45 on a buzzer-beater in the closing second.
Binghamton is without sophomore forward Nick Madray who suffered an ankle sprain in the closing minutes against St. Bonaventure. Madray had a huge game scoring 20 points...his highest total this season.
The Bearcats host the University at Buffalo December 23 at 7 PM at the Events Center. That is the final non-conference game on the schedule. BU opens America East play January 2 at UMass Lowell.
