The Binghamton Bearcats will meet James Madison University Friday in the opening round of the NCAA National Softball Championship Tournament.  They will play in the Harrisonburg Regional in Harrisonburg, Va. at a time to be announced.  The Bearcats learned who they would play and where they would go by watching the NCAA Selection Show aired on ESPNU last night.  The two other teams selected for that regional are Fordham and North Carolina State.  Fordham is coached by Binghamton native Bridget Baxter.

James Madison lost to Hofstra Saturday in the Colonial Athletic Association championship.  They enter the NCAA Tournament with a record of 47-8.  The Bearcats swept Stony Brook Saturday to capture their first America East Championship.  This is also Binghamton's first NCAA playoff opportunity at the Division I level.

Binghamton coach Michelle Burrell and team captains Griffin McIver and Caitlyn Friis will appear on WNBF First News at 8:20 Monday morning to talk about their America East title and their trip to the NCAA Tournament.
