The Binghamton Bearcats women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Vermont Catamounts today (Sunday) in an America East semifinal match at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  The contest's only goal was scored by Brooke Jenkins with eight minutes remaining in the second half.

The contest pitted the Bearcats who won a share of the America East regular season title against the sixth-seeeded Catamounts.  Vermont had defeated the Bearcats 2-0 in the regular season.

Binghamton out shot Vermont with a 14 to 11 advantage.  The loss ends the season for the Bearcats who finish with a record of 11-4-4.  The Catamounts up their record to 9-8-2.

It was a tough day for top seeds.  The regular season champion New Hampshire Wildcats fell to visiting Stony Brook 1-0.  Stony Brook entered the postseason as the fifth seed.  Vermont travels to Stony Brook for the championship match on Sunday, November 5.  The way the day played out should Binghamton have won they would have hosted the championship contest.
