The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball victory over UMass Lowell January 3 was big.  Wins have not come easily in recent seasons for either the women's or men's basketball teams.  Perhaps the major reason for elation was that the Bearcats made a crucial, clutch shot to win the game.

How far can that win take them ?

January 6 the Bearcats faced one of the top programs in America East in Hartford.  The Hawks are coached by 16th-year head coach Jennifer Rizzotti.  They came in with a record of 7-8 and won their conference opener at Vermont January 3, 62-46.  Wins have come against the likes of Cornell, Providence and Penn State.
