The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team was eliminated from the America East Tournament on Saturday night when they lost in overtime to the Hartford Hawks 72-68.  The Bearcats were up by as many as 14 points in the second half but could not fend off a furious Hartford comeback.

The Hawks tied the game in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime.  Darby Lee led all scorers with 25 points.  For the Bearcats Kai Moon was the top gun with 17 points including a 12-12 showing at the free throw line.  Alyssa James notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Imani Watkins also scored in double figures with 15 tallies.  Turnovers again plagued the Bearcats.  Binghamton committed 26 turnovers...the second time in their last three games that they have reached that number.

Hartford moves on and meets second-seed Albany in a semifinal game Sunday afternoon.  Binghamton's loss puts the Bearcats conference record even with Hartford at 10-7.  Even though the Bearcats had their hopes for an America East title dashed their season may not be over.  They are waiting for word on Monday night of the possibility of taking part in the WBI (Women's Basketball Invitational).
