Bearcats Can Win AE Baseball Title Today

The Binghamton Bearcats can win the America East Baseball Championship today (Saturday) in Lowell, Massachusetts when they meet the Stony Brook Seawolves at noon. The winner of the conference's post-season tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Bearcats won in remarkable fashion on Friday afternoon when they came from behind to win on a walk-off grand slam home run by catcher Jason Agresti in the bottom of the ninth inning by a final score of 9-6.  BU is undefeated in the double elimination tournament.  Stony Brook has lost once.  They fell in 10 innings 7-6 to the Hartford Hawks.  If Binghamton wins the noon game they win the tournament.  Should Stony Brook win that would force the deciding game to be played at 3:30 PM.
