The Vermont Catamounts balance and depth proved too much for the Binghamton Bearcats tonight in men's basketball.  Vermont held a 34-22 point lead at the half and ended up with a 61-37 victory.  The America East battle was played at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington, Vermont and was the Catamounts tenth win in twelve meetings against Binghamton there.

Trey Blue led all scorers with 17 points including 3 three-pointers.  Clancy Rugg scored Vermont's first 8 points in the game and ended up with 16 total.  Forward Brian Voelkel grabbed 15 rebounds and added 7 assists for Vermont.

Roland Brown was 5-5 from the floor to finish with 10 points for Binghamton.  Jordan Reed also knocked down 10 points.  The Bearcats were held to just 2-16 from three-point range and managed just 2 offensive rebounds for the entire game.  21 turnovers plagued the Bearcats as well.

Binghamton's Jimmy Gray left the game in the closing minutes of the second half with an upper body injury.  No word on the extent of that injury.  The Bearcats drop to 0-5 in America East and 2-16 overall.  Vermont is now 4-1 in conference play and 11-6 overall.
