The Binghamton Bearcats are heading to the NCAA Baseball Tournament after winning the America East Championship today (Saturday) with a 6-3 victory over Stony Brook. The Bearcats went 3-0 to capture their third America East crown in the past four seasons.  Binghamton has won the America East Championship in four of the past eight seasons.

Two area standouts had a big hand in today's championship clincher. Vestal High grad Nick Wegmann started against the Seawolves, went five innings, and earned the win to move to 2-0 on the season. Union-Endicott alum C.J. Krowiak, an America East All-Conference outfielder, went 3-5 from his leadoff spot in the lineup.
