The Binghamton Bearcats wrestling team finished seventh out of 16 teams in last weekend's EIWA Championships held in Hempstead, New York at Hofstra University. Five Bearcats placed in the weekend competition.  The Bearcats also won the tournament's Sportsmanship Award as voted on by the referees who officiated the event.

Placing for the Bearcats were:

at 125 pounds, Joe Nelson who finished in fifth place overall.

at 133 pounds, Jake Nicholson who finished sixth.

at 157 pounds, Tristan Rifanburg who finished eighth.

at 149 pounds, Frankie Garcia who finished second.

at 184 pounds, Steven Schneider who finished third.

Both Schneider and Garcia qualified to compete in the NCAA National Championship Tournament which takes place in Cleveland, Ohio March 16th and 17th at the Quicken Loans Arena.

With the Bearcats finishing in seventh place it is the highest finish in BU's program history.
