BC Transit Driver Reportedly On Phone Before Crash

Surveillance video from a BC Transit bus shows the driver was using a phone just before a crash on the Vestal Parkway.

According to the Press & Sun-Bulletin, three people were hurt as the result of the July 3 crash on the parkway near Route 201.

The newspaper reports the bus driver was 44-year-old Jeffrey Hayes. The bus hit a sedan, which then struck another car. Three people reportedly sustained injuries as a result of the crash.

According to the newspaper, Hayes was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device.
