The marquee 2014 regular season high school football showdown is coming to Spartan Stadium this Friday night at 7 PM when the Maine-Endwell Spartans host the Chenango Forks Blue Devils.  The Forks is the defending New York State Class "C" Champion and the Spartans are reigning New York State Class "B" Champs.  Both are 5-0 this season.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2007 season when the Blue Devils recorded a 21-0 decision.  Chenango Forks had held the longest winning streak in Section 4 with 38 straight victories before the Spartans snapped that this season on the way to 43 consecutive wins going into Friday night.

Both schools have won three state championships.  M-E won the Class "A" title in 2011 and the Class "B" crown the past two years.  The Forks won back to back state titles in 2003 and 2004 to go along with last season's championship.

Friday's game is set for a 7 PM start and M-E Director of Athletics Dave Cook advises fans to get there early as 8,000 to 10,000 spectators are expected to attend.  The game will also be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF with Roger Neel and Tim Smith calling the action.
