Andrew Cuomo is starting his second term as New York Governor with several vacancies in his administration to fill.

The New York State Thruway Authority Executive Director, Thomas Madison and the Chief Financial Officer, John Bryan have both resigned and former Broome County Executive, Barbara Fiala has retired as the Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner after serving three years in the appointed position.

Fiala, who recently turned 70, cited some family health issues and the strain of traveling back and forth between Broome County and Albany.

There’s talk already that Fiala  may consider another run for County Executive.
