The Binghamton Mets won their fifth straight game tonight as they broke a 3-3 deadlock with three runs in the ninth innning to post a 6-3 road win over the Portland Sea Dogs..  Binghamton has its longest winning streak since August, 2011.

The Sea Dogs had a nightmare ninth inning.  The B-Mets scored three runs on four hits in the inning and were aided by three Portland errors.

John Church got the win in relief of starter Erik Goeddel.  Jeff Walters came in to close the door in the ninth inning and earn his league-best 11th save. The victory puts Binghamton one game behind Portland in the Eastern Division.

Binghamton is now 23-18 while Portland drops to 23-16.  Cesar Puello had two hits for the B-Mets and drove in a pair of runs.

Game two of the three-game series is set for tomorrow at 1:00 PM (Airtime at 12:45 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF)  Mark Cohoon will be on the mound for Binghamton while Anthony Ranaudo counters for the Sea Dogs.
