The rain that has pounded the northeast over the past week has once again claimed a Binghamton Mets game.  Tonight's scheduled B-Mets vs Trenton Thunder game at NYSEG Srtadium has been postponed.  With steady rain falling and a forecast of potential flash flooding the B-Mets gave up any hopes of getting tonight's contest played.

Tonight's rain-out will be made-up as part of a doubleheader at NYSEG Stadium on Friday, July 26 starting at 5:30 PM.  The teams will play  two seven inning games.

The B-Mets have been riding high with the best record in the Eastern League but wet weather has kept them from improving their hold on first place.  Binghamton got its game in Portland played on Monday night after an 84 -minute delay in the start of the game. Then after finishing two innings on Tuesday night  thunderstorms and heavy rain hit again and following a lengthy delay the game was suspended.  Last night, a doubleheader never got started due to wet weather and unplayable field conditions as rain continued to plague Portland.

The B-Mets come into Friday night's game with a record of 47-28 while Trenton is 40-37.  Cory Mazzoni gets the start for Binghamton while Zach Nuding gets the call for the Thunder.  Game-time is 7:05 with airtime at 6:50 on News Radio 1290.  The Broome Sports Foundation will be holding its annual sports memorabilia and collectibles auction during the game tomorrow and Saturday nights with dozens of autographed souvenirs available for bid.  Proceeds benefit the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.
