The Binghamton Mets swept the Reading Fightin Phils in a doubleheader last night in Reading to move to within one-half game of the first place Portland Sea Dogs in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League.  The B-Mets edged Reading in the first game 2-1 and took game two 7-3.

Daisuke Matsuzaka made a rehab start in the opening game and tossed six innings to get the win.  He gave-up one run on three hits to earn the decision.

In the second game Tyler Pill made the start to up his record to 8-5.  He struck out six along the way.  Pill is unbeaten in his last 15 games as a Binghamton Met.

The wins put Binghamton's record at 76-50.  The B-Mets are 5-0 versus the Fightin Phils this season.  The series concludes with a 5:05 game today in Reading.  Stephen Matz will make the start for Binghamton.  Hoby Milner counters for Reading.  Airtime is set for 4:50 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
