The Richmond Flying Squirrels were just what the struggling Binghamton Mets needed.  Binghamton completed a three-game series sweep Sunday with a 7-2 victory over the Flying Squirrels.  It gave the B-Mets a win in all three-games this weekend against Richmond and evened the season series at 5-5.

Tyler Pill was staked to an early lead.  The B-Mets jumped up 3-0 after one inning and were up 7-0 after three innings of play.  Pill went eight innings and struck out six Richmond batters.  He upped his record to 4-8.  The loss went to Andrew Suarey who falls to 2-5.

Binghamton had three players with multiple-hit games.  Stefan Sabol went 3-4.  L.J. Mazzilli had a 2-5 game and Dominic Smith was 2-4.  Amed Rosario continued to hit safely since he call-up from St. Lucie.  Billed by many as the shortstop of the future for the New York Mets, Rosario has a hit or more in all four games he has played so far this season at the Double-A level.

Binghamton hits the road for a three-game series in Altoona.  Game time Monday night is set for 7:00 PM with air at at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
