B-Mets Romp in Portland
The Bignhamton Mets closed out their five-game series in Portland, Maine today (Sunday) with an 8-1 victory over the Sea Dogs. Binghamton banged out 17 hits and jumped out to a four-run lead in the first inning. Starter Casey Delgado earned the win on the mound...his first victory at the Double-A level. The win gave Binghamton a 2-6 record on their road trip.
Matt Oberste continues his torrid hitting pace with three hits. He is hitting at a .409 pace over his last 11 games played. Binghamton heads home to begin a series against the Altoona Curve on Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Mickey Jannis is expected to be the starting B-Mets pitcher in that one. Scheduled starting time for Tuesday's game is 6:35 (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
