The Binghamton Mets dropped a 6-5 heart-breaker last night in 10 innings  to the Trenton Thunder in Trenton in the opening game of the best-of-five Eastern Divsion Championship Series.  The scene was set for a B-Mets victory.  Binghamton had a 5-3 lead with the Eastern League's best closer on the mound and two outs in the inning.  But Trenton got to Jeff Walters for five straight hits to win the game.

Binghamton looks to even the series tonight in a 7:05 start (airtime at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Manager Pedro Lopez will send southpaw Darin Gorski  to mound.  Gorski was 6-1 with an ERA of 1.83 in Double-A after starting the season in Triple-A Las Vegas.  Opposing him will be Mikey O'Brien.  O'Brien was 7-8 during the regular season and posted an ERA of 4.12.

Following tonight's game the two teams will finish the series in Binghamton.  Game three is set for tomorrow night at NYSEG Stadium at 7:05.  Game four goes Saturday at 7:05 and if game five is necessary it will be played Sunday at 1:05 PM..
