The Binghamton Mets and Portland Sea Dogs are underway in game one of a doubleheader at NYSEG Stadium. Allan Dykstra has hit a two-run home run in the game and the B-Mets lead 4-1 in the fifth inning. The game was picked-up after two innings of play with the game in a scoreless deadlock.  This game was suspended after a lengthy rain delay in Portland.  The teams will complete this as a nine inning game. The nightcap will be a seven inning contest.

Starter Cory Mazzoni left the game in the fourth inning after suffering an apparent lower body injury.  He was replaced by Jim Fuller.  Mazzoni  gave up two hits with one strikeout over an inning and one-third of work.

The B-Mets have the best record in the Eastern League with a 53-33 slate. The Sea Dogs and Trenton are hoping to cut the B-Mets hold on first place in the Eastern Division.  Binghamton leads Portland by eight and one-half games and Trenton by nine and one-half games.

The teams play six straight times with single games tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon and another doubleheader set for a 5:05 PM start Saturday.  All games can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF and on wnbf.com.
