SeaDogs Sink B-Mets
The Binghamton Mets had a big fireworks show following the July 5 game to wrap-up the holiday weekend but the rockets weren't the only thing that blew up.
The Portland Sea Dogs rocked the B-Mets 6-1.
Saturday night Gavin Cecchini and Aderlin Rodriguez provided the blasting with a home run apiece to power Binghamton to a 5-2 win before close to 5,000 fans at NYSEG Stadium. Cechinni hammered a grand slam home run to give the B-Mets an early big lead that Portland could not counter.
Right-handed pitcher John Gant has been called up from St. Lucie where he made six starts and has gone 2-0 with a blistering 1.79 ERA. Gant was with Binghamton earlier this season and has a 2-3 record at the Double-A level. The B-Mets are going for the sixth consecutive victory over the Sea Dogs.
