B-Mets Fall to Flying Squirrels in Richmond
The Binghamton Mets continued their road swing with a stop in Richmond to meet the Flying Squirrels.
Binghamton's attempt to sweep the Akron RubberDucks fell short on Mother's Day. Akron took a 9-4 decision as John Gant gave up four runs in five innings to suffer the loss.
The Squirrels one-upped the B-Mets for a 4-3 victory in the first game of the series.
Seth Lugo made the start for the B-Mets. He is 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA. Opposing the right-hander is southpaw Jack Snodgrass who is 2-3 with a 5.04 ERA.
This series provides a re-match of last September's Eastern League Championship series when Binghamton swept all three games to clinch their title. Overall Binghamton finished 9-4 against the Flying Squirrels.
The three-game series wraps up May 13 with a 12:05 start. The B-Mets host New Hampshire to begin a four-game set at NYSEG Stadium beginning May 14.
