The Reading Fightin Phils rocked B-Mets' pitching for 18 hits last night as they won the opening game of their best-of-five playoff series 9-4 at NYSEG Stadium.  The Fightin Phils jumped on Binghamton starter Tyler Pill for four runs in the first inning.  They added three more runs off Pill in the fifth inning on a home run from Brock Stassi to chase Pill.

Vince Belnome ripped a long home run for one of the few hitting highlights for Binghamton.  Josh Rodriguez had an RBI single in the eighth inning for the B-Mets.  He was assigned to Binghamton after a brief stay with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Game two in the series is set for 6:35 (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF tonight).  Robert Gsellman will make the start for Binghamton.  Jake Thompson gets the nod for the Fightin Phils.
