B-Mets Crush Sea Dogs
The Binghamton Mets banged out 18 hits and continued their dominance at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine as they clobbered the Sea Dogs 13-2 last (Tuesday) night. Binghamton has now won 13 consecutive games in Portland including a pair of playoff wins two seasons ago.
Last night Dominic Smith and Niuman Romero led the way to victory. Smith had three hits in six at-bats with a home run and four runs batted in. Romero also ripped a home run and drove in five runs while going 3-6 at the plate. Andrew Barbosa earned his first win of the season while giving up a pair of runs in five innings pitched.
The two teams meet again tonight at 6:00 PM (air at 5:45 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Tyler Pill starts for the B-Mets while Ty Buttrey counters for Portland. Binghamton heads into action tonight with a 12-10 record while the Sea Dogs are 8-17.
The B-Mets conclude their road trip with an 11:00 AM contest tomorrow morning. They then head back to NYSEG Stadium to host Akron Friday night and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
