Broome County Humane Society Executive Director, Karen Matson and Fundraising Coordinator, Kim Broderick appear on the local, weekly public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up December 7th and discuss a long list of events and fund-raising projects to benefit the Jackson Street, Binghamton shelter and its animal residents.

This month the shelter staff and some adoptable pets will be at some area businesses, there's an adoption special for adult cats, short-term holiday foster homes are being sought, calendars are being sold and 'buy-one-get-one' coupon books are available for stocking stuffers.

Matson also discusses what families should consider when thinking about adopting a pet and what opportunities are available for people to help out the shelter and the animals.
