Authorities Investigate the Discovery of a Body in Sherburne

Chenango County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in the parking lot of Richie’s Bar and Grill on Classic Street in Sherburne.

Officials say they believe 50 year old Diana Theofilogiannakos died sometime between 2:30 and 6:45 a.m. September 25.

She was found next to a vehicle in the parking lot at 6:45 when an employee returned to the bar to retrieve their car.

Investigators say Theofilogiannakos’ body was taken to Lourdes Hosptial for an autopsy.  Those results were inconclusive pending toxicology testing.

Officials say they do not believe the woman’s death was a homicide.

Anyone who was in the area of Richie’s Bar and Grill between 2:30 and 6:45 a.m. or someone who has information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s office at (607) 334-2000.
