Cortland County Sheriff's officials say a Virgil man is accused of shooting a man he knew August 10.

Officials say the victim was shot in the torso on West River road at around 9:30 a.m. and drove himself home, about a mile away, before being treated by emergency responders and airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

50 year old Ronald Daniels was found at his home where the shooting allegedly occurred and was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Deputies say they located two shotguns, ammunition and both live marijuana plants and dried pot on Daniel's property.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.

The victim's name and condition were not released.
