Roger Neel

Roger is the Morning Show host on Newsradio 1290 WNBF. In addition Roger serves as Brand Manager and Sports Director for WNBF and Program Director for ESPN 1360 AM WYOS. Roger came to WNBF to broadcast pro hockey with the American Hockey League's Broome Dusters and later Binghamton Whalers. He has been WNBF's Brand Manager since 1986. In addition Roger is the play by play voice of the Binghamton University Bearcats men's basketball team and was the Binghamton Mets Stadium Announcer for 12 seasons.. He graduated from Westminster College with a BA degree in Speech and Broadcasting. At Westminster he was a starting offensive tackle on their 1970 NAIA National Championship football team and was Captain of the baseball team in his Sr. season. Roger was selected for entry into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003, the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010 and Slippery Rock High School's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

One Escapee Dead

Authorities say one of the two murderers who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility on June 6th is dead.  Richard Matt has been shot by police near Lake Titus in Franklin County.

David Sweat, who escaped with Matt and was in prison serving a life sentence for the murder of Broome County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Tarsia, is still on the run

B-Mets Standouts Named to Futures Game

Binghamton Mets outfielders Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo have been named to play for the U.S. Team at the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 12 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.  This is the 17th year for the Futures Game which puts the top prospects in professional baseball on the national stage during Major League Baseball's All-Star Week.

Close Encounter With Escapees

 

New York State Police PhotoVarious reports indicate authorities have their best tip yet in the hunt for escapees and convicted murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt.  According to the Press-Republican newspaper in Plattsburgh DNA evidence proves the pair was at a remote hunting camp on Black Cat Mountain which is about 30 miles west of the Clinton Correctional Facility.
