Roger Neel

Roger is the Morning Show host on Newsradio 1290 WNBF. In addition Roger serves as Program and Sports Director for WNBF and Program Director for ESPN 1360 AM WYOS. Roger came to WNBF to broadcast pro hockey with the American Hockey League's Broome Dusters and later Binghamton Whalers. He has been WNBF's Program Director since 1986. In addition Roger is the play by play voice of the Binghamton University Bearcats men's basketball team and was the Binghamton Mets Stadium Announcer for 12 seasons.. He graduated from Westminster College with a BA degree in Speech and Broadcasting. At Westminster he was a starting offensive tackle on their 1970 NAIA National Championship football team and was Captain of the baseball team in his Sr. season. Roger was selected for entry into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010.

Free Concerts Coming To Otsiningo Park

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston earlier today announced the lineup for a new, free, weekly summer concert series at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.  The concert series will be held on Tuesday evenings, will highlight area bands and is being sponsored by Coughlin & Gerhart LLP.

B-Mets Bring The Heat To Portland

The Binghamton Mets are playing their best baseball of the season as they take a four-game winning streak into Portland, Maine for a series against the Sea Dogs.  The B-Mets are idle tonight and open a three-game series in Portland tomorrow night at 6PM (airtime at 545 on News Radio 1290 WNBF)

Sacred Sites Open House Set For This Sunday

15  Houses of Worship in Binghamton and Johnson City will welcome visitors with an open house this Sunday, May 19th.  The event is free and open to the public.

Organized by the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier and in conjunction with a state-wide Sacred Sites Open House Weekend area churches are opening their doors to welcome visitors during the middle part of the day on Sunday

Binghamton Mets Host Akron Tonight

The Binghamton Mets homestand continues tonight as they welcome the Akron Aeros to NYSEG Stadium for a 6:35 game.  The B-Mets are coming off a doubleheader split against Harrisburg yesterday.

As the B-Mets begin the week they carry a record of 19-18 and have won two of four games on this current 7-game homestand

Binghamton Bearcats Swept By Maine Black Bears In Baseball

The Binghamton Bearcats lost a doubleheader today to the Maine Black Bears at the Bearcats Sports Complex by scores of 4-3 and 13-7...the latter in 10 innings.

Hundreds Walk To Fight Crohn’s And Colitis

Over 400 walkers turned out today  to help in the fight against Crohn's Disease and Colitis.  The walk was held late this afternoon at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.

Walkers of all ages took part in the fund-raising event with pledges and contributions going to help in the fight against digestive diseases Crohn's and colitis
