Roger Neel

Roger is the Morning Show host on Newsradio 1290 WNBF. In addition Roger serves as Brand Manager and Sports Director for WNBF and Program Director for ESPN 1360 AM WYOS. Roger came to WNBF to broadcast pro hockey with the American Hockey League's Broome Dusters and later Binghamton Whalers. He has been WNBF's Brand Manager since 1986. In addition Roger is the play by play voice of the Binghamton University Bearcats men's basketball team and was the Binghamton Mets Stadium Announcer for 12 seasons.. He graduated from Westminster College with a BA degree in Speech and Broadcasting. At Westminster he was a starting offensive tackle on their 1970 NAIA National Championship football team and was Captain of the baseball team in his Sr. season. Roger was selected for entry into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003, the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010 and Slippery Rock High School's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

The Insane Inflatable 5K Is Coming Fast

The WNBF Insane Inflatable 5K is fast approaching.  Scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, the WNBF Insane Inflatable 5K will be held at Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott.  It is the first time in the Triple-Cities for such an event.  Last year the race was held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

B-Mets Set for Homestand

The Binghamton Mets begin a six-game homestand August 4 when they host the Bowie Baysox at 6:35 p.m. at NYSEG Stadium.  The three-game series will match the Eastern League's division leaders against each other.  Bowie is tops in the Western Division with a 61-46 record.  That gives the Baysox a four-game lead on the Altoona Curve.  The B-Mets are 59-48.  They hold a 1.5 game lead over the Reading Fighin Phils and a three-game edge over New Hampshire.

U-E Grad Johnson Moves West

Union-Endicott Graduate Jim Johnson  has become a Los Angeles Dodger.  Johnson was traded from the Atlanta Braves to the Dodgers just before the Major League trading deadline.  With the Braves Johnson was 2-3 in 49 appearances.  He has seen action in one game for the Dodgers and had no decision.  His ERA is 2.39 and he has saved nine games overall.
