Roger Neel

Roger is the Morning Show host on Newsradio 1290 WNBF. In addition Roger serves as Program and Sports Director for WNBF and Program Director for ESPN 1360 AM WYOS. Roger came to WNBF to broadcast pro hockey with the American Hockey League's Broome Dusters and later Binghamton Whalers. He has been WNBF's Program Director since 1986. In addition Roger is the play by play voice of the Binghamton University Bearcats men's basketball team and was the Binghamton Mets Stadium Announcer for 12 seasons.. He graduated from Westminster College with a BA degree in Speech and Broadcasting. At Westminster he was a starting offensive tackle on their 1970 NAIA National Championship football team and was Captain of the baseball team in his Sr. season. Roger was selected for entry into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010.

The Binghamton Bearcats Face Tough Road Test Tonight

The Binghamton Bearcats travel to Albany to meet the long-time rival Great Danes tonight in a Dr. Martin Luther King Holiday match-up.  Game-time is 7 PM with air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  The road game at SEFCU Arena did not figure to be an easy one at the start of the season but it definitely looks like an uphill battle now

80 high school and college umpires gathered to receive Major League instruction Saturday at the Edge Sports Complex, 2220 Old Vestal Road, Vestal.  The second annual NYS Baseball Umpire's Clinic attracted umpires from all over the region and featured several Major League umpires heading up the staff

Maine-Endwell and Chenango Forks Standouts Receive More Honors

More honors for standout members of Section IV and New York State football champions Maine-Endwell and Chenango Forks were announced yesterday.  Senior quarterback Kyle Gallagher, who led the Spartans to their third consecutive New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship this Fall, and senior running back Isaiah Zimmer of Chenango Forks, were named Player of the Year in their respective classifications by the New York State Sports Writers Association
