Secret Shopper Scam Warning in Broome County

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a secret shopper scam.

Authorities say over the past several days, they have received numerous complaints about a mystery/secret shopper scheme where people are getting packages or envelopes containing fraudulent checks along with instructions for the victim to cash the check at their bank, keep a portion of the money for their fee and return the rest to someone, usually at an overseas address

Binghamton Multi-Million Dollar Construction Season Starts

The start of the reconstruction of the Exchange Street Bridge is heralding the beginning of $28 million worth of infrastructure work in the City of Binghamton this season.

City Engineer Gary Holmes says the projects include repairs to the South Washington Street Pedestrian Bridge, the Clinton Street Bridge, completion of the Riverside Drive paving, work on the Norfolk Southern Railroad Project and repairs to several neighborhood streets
