Owego Man Accused of Trying to Sell Business its Own Scrap

An Owego man is accused of stealing over 100 pounds of aluminum from Weitsman’s Scrap then trying to sell it back to the business.

Tioga County Sheriff’s officials say 21 year old Corey Harders is accused of taking 137 pounds of aluminum from a Weitsman location on Recycle Drive in Owego then trying to sell it back to Weitsman’s office on West Main Street

Bus Service Restored in Tioga County

Tioga Countyresidents will be able to get public transportation to things like doctor appointments in spite of the discontinuation of the Ride Tioga bus service.

County officials say Chemung County is extending its public transportation service to help keep some of the Tioga County bus routes, but with fewer runs between Owego and Waverly

Susquehanna Gas Facility Explosion and Spill Results in Fine

An explosion at a natural gas drilling storage tank and a wastewater spill earlier this year in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania is resulting in a fine for the gas company.

The Department of Environmental Protection has fined Cabot Oil and Gas $120,000 dollars for the January 11 incident that was apparently caused by a worker using a cell phone as a flashlight to check the level of fluid in the wastewater tank igniting vapors in the headspace
