Southern Tier Debates Casino Proposals

The Town of Union is taking public comment about a proposal for the development of a casino and resort at Homestead Village on Watson Boulevard, otherwise known as Traditions at the Glen.

According to an official notice from the Town the board is considering a new proposed 'Planned Unit Development' Watson Boulevard on and Barton Avenue that uses a townhouse residential development, office space, hotel and conference center, a casino, retail and an outdoor entertainment venue

Thousands of NYSEG Customers Lose Power

Several thousand New York State Electric and Gas customers are slowly getting power back on after strong storms overnight downed trees and power lines in the NYSEG service area.

Over 1,200 customers were without electricity early this morning in Chenango County had power interrupted while over 700 locations in Northern Broome County were waiting to have power restored early this morning

N.Y.’s Legislature Votes to Expand Fracking Ban
