Two people are in custody in connection with a shooting in a largely  residential neighborhood just a few blocks from Wilson Hospital in Johnson City which police say was a case of attempted murder.

A man was shot at 224 Corliss Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. March 23 and was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police launched a search for three people in a vehicle that fled the scene.

Investigators were able to get a license plate number for the Pontiac and Binghamton Police located the vehicle in the City.

Two of the three suspects identified in the incident are being charged.

27 year old Larry Patterson of Greenwood, South Carolina is charged with felony attempted murder and felony criminal use of a firearm.

18 year old Norma Hayes of Johnson City is charged with felony attempted murder.

Police say the victim was shot in the back following a confrontation outside the large, blue apartment house.

The gun believed used in the shooting has been recovered.
