Attempted Abduction Reported in Homer

Police in Homer are looking for a suspect in a reported attempted child abduction.  Officials say a 10 year old girl was walking home from school on Elm Street at around 3:45 p.m. September 4 an older model, mid-sized grey sedan pulled along side and a white, chubby, middle-aged man asked the girl to get into the car.  The child ran home and police were called.

Police say the car may have been a 2005 or 2006 Buick.  The car had rust around the rear driver’s side fender and a yellow-colored license plate.

The driver was clean-shaven with short, dark hair.
