New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo of Endwell is cosponsoring a bill that aims to reduce the costs to the state of administering tax rebates that were recently approved in Albany.

The $350 Family Tax Relief Credit is for families with children with incomes of between $40,000 and $300,000 a year. The rebates would go to those families every year for three years beginning in October, 2014.

Lupardo and state Senator George Latimer have authored a proposal that have eligible residents claim the credit on their taxes instead of being mailed checks by the state. Lupardo says claiming the credit would save the cost of printing the checks and the postage for mailing them.
