Heastie plans to make stops in Binghamton, Vestal and Endicott on Thursday.

According to Heastie's public schedule, he'll visit WNBF's downtown studio for a live interview on the Binghamton Now program at 11:15 a.m.

After the broadcast appearance, Heastie is to meet with area labor representatives downtown. He then plans to meet with reporters at the Binghamton State Office Building.

The media availability will be followed by a meeting with local officials and community leaders.

Later in the afternoon, Heastie is scheduled to tour the Binghamton University Innovative Technologies Complex in Vestal. He also plans to visit the BAE Systems unit in Endicott where the company's bus propulsion program is based.

Heastie will be accompanied on his local tour by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, an Endwell Democrat.

Heastie became leader of the Assembly in February after long-time speaker Sheldon Silver stepped down from the post following his arrest on federal corruption charges.
