Two town of Union residents have been accused of stealing scrap metal from railroad property.

Authorities say 28-year-old Derek Greco of Endicott and 25-year-old Shelissa Cole of Endwell are suspected of taking metal that had been near rail tracks in the area of Bornt Hill and Airport roads.

According to New York State Police, Greco and Cole were found in a pickup truck that contained about 20 pieces of scrap metal.

Investigators say the metal was worth about 50 dollars.

Greco and Cole were charged with criminal trespass on railroad property and petit larceny. They were ordered to appear in Union town court on Tuesday.
