Arrest in Tioga County shooting

An Ithaca man wanted in connection with a reported shooting last week in Richford has surrendered.

The Tioga County Sheriff's Department says 18-year-old Devin VanBrunt turned himself into sheriff's investigators at Tioga Municipal Court on Monday.

An arrest warrant had been issued for VanBrunt after a report of two people who suffered gunshot wounds early Thursday morning at the Light Road address, but had left the scene.

VanBrunt was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and assault---all felonies.

He was sent to the Tioga County Jail in Lieu of 50-thousand-dollars cash bail or 100-thousand dollars bond.

VanBrunt is scheduled to re-appear in Town of Tioga Court on Thursday.
