The Army West Point Black Knights used a second half surge to post a non-conference win over the Binghamton Bearcats in men's basketball Wednesday night at Christl Arena.  Binghamton led 24-23 at the end of the first half but the Black Knights shot 57 percent from the field and outscored Binghamton 44-32 in the second half to post a 67-56 victory.  the loss drops Binghamton's record to 2-5 while Army moves to 3-5.

Army won the battle on the boards with a 41-31 advantage. Coming into the game the Bearcats led the nation in blocked shots averaging 7.7 per game.  Versus Army the Bearcats registered five blocked shots.

Binghamton's top scorer was Sam Sessoms who hit for 19 points.  J.C. Show also notched double figures with 13 points.  Army's top scorer was Matt Wilson who went 7-11 from the field and ended up with 16 points.  Tommy Funk with 13 points and Jordan Fox with 11 points also scored in double digits for the Black Knights.

The Bearcats next game is Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Events Center versus Hartwick.  It is also Toys for Tots day with fans invited to bring new toys to donate to needy children in our community.  Airtime is 1:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
