More Broome County residents apparently are being targeted in another telephone scheme.

An Endicott man reported receiving a suspicious call this afternoon from a person who claimed to be offering a card that would provide free prescription drugs.

The caller did not identify a company he was representing. He attempted to verify the resident's name and address before asking for the name of the person's bank.

In this case, the man who was called provided no personal information and simply hung up.

Police continue to remind area residents to be wary of anyone who calls with an offer of any type of service. People should never offer any information to anyone they don't know.
