Binghamton police reportedly are investigating the second home invasion incident in less than a week.

According to WBNG-TV, the latest incident happened early Monday morning on Helen Street, just south of Jerome Avenue.

The TV station reported police were seeking more than one suspect who entered the residence.

A resident is said to have tried to tackle one of the invaders but the person ran off.

Binghamton police detectives Monday afternoon released no additional information about the case.

Last Tuesday, two women escaped to a roof of a duplex on Downs Avenue in the First Ward when someone entered their residence around 2 a.m.

At least two shots were fired inside the home. The intruder apparently escaped through a back door before police arrived.

No injuries were reported in that incident.
