Animal Hospital Planned at Old Endicott Store Building
A Broome County veterinarian is planning to convert an Endicott structure into an animal care facility.
Dr. Alison Beaulieu of Vestal has operated Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City since 2009.
According to the facility's website, Beaulieu plans to move the business to a much larger building at 2001 East Main Street in Endicott "in the near future."
The site most recently had been used by Broome County for its Central Foods operation. The property was no longer needed when a private company began doing the work. Before that, the building housed a series of businesses, including grocery stores.
The county sold the property for $260,000 in May. Construction workers spent several weeks gutting the building. They now are preparing to install new windows and to do renovations inside.
It's not known when the new facility will open. Beaulieu has not responded to requests for information about the project.
