America East Basketball Tournament Selections

Men’s basketball in the America East Conference will be well represented in post-season tournament action.  At the top of the list is Vermont.  The regular season and conference tournament champions received an automatic bid from the NCAA to take part in “The Big Dance”.  The Catamounts defeated the Albany Great Danes 56-53 Saturday to earn the America East crown.  Vermont is riding the longest winning streak in the nation with 21 consecutive victories. The Catamounts last loss was at Butler on December 21, 2016.

The Catamounts will meet Purdue on Thursday night at 7:27 PM in the Midwest Regional in Milwaukee.  The Boilermakers enter as a fourth seed while Vermont is a 13th seed.  Purdue is 25-7 while the Catamounts are 29-5.  The Boilermakers won the Big 10 regular season championship.

Albany will host St. Peter’s Thursday night at 7 PM in the College Insider Tournament.
