America East Announces Binghamton as Host of Women’s Basketball Tournament

Binghamton University will host the 2015 and 2016 America East women's basketball tournament.  America East announced today that the next two women's tournaments will be played at the Events Center.

Under a revamped format America East will have the quarterfinals and semifinals at BU.  The Championship game will be held the following weekend at the home venue of the remaining higher seed. No playoff dates have been released yet.

Binghamton has been the host of one prior America East Championship tournament.  For the first time since 2009 the men's and women's tournaments will be held separately.  The men will go to a high-seed format next season.  Higher seeded teams will be able to host their quarterfinal and semifinal games with the semifinal winners meeting at the higher seed for the championship.
